Travel luggage for children is always a trial. You need something that is attractive, lightweight and has room for toys and books. Besides they need to be able to carry it themselves.
We have been keeping our eyes on the YUU Bag for for sometime now and I was really interested in getting one for Jadyn as she is soon to go on her first school trip. Luckily for me the lovely people at YUU World decided to send me one to review and it was perfect that the colour was blue as Jadyn seems to have outgrown pink. 🙂
Our thoughts on the bag –
The bag is quite large which is good for a slightly longer stay (more than an overnight stay).
It is attractively coloured. The exterior is aqua blue with purple and pink streetdancers on it. Perfect for a girl aged 9.
It looks really sturdy and am sure will hold more than all of the things she will need for a two-night stay.
It has a number of compartments which is great for a child to get organized so they know exactly where everything is kept. (I sooo need a YUU Bag – my handbag is a mess). There are compartments for pens, sketch pads, keys, change and really everything that a child may want to take on a trip.
The wide, padded shoulder straps and the chest strap make it easy to carry.
I was particularly impressed with the little whistle that has been incorporated into the clip on the chest strap and I told Jadyn about the importance of this – great for a call for help especially in these days.
The bag is ergonomically designed to support children’s spines that are growing so there is no worry of a problem with weight on the back.
It is made of moulded foam so it is rigid but not hard making it comfortable for a child to carry.
It can be attached to the headrest of the car so that the child can be kept entertained.
It is cabin friendly too if you are making a trip by plane.
That’s not all – The YUU bag comes with a YUU fun pack that includes a magnetic game of snakes and ladders (perfect for long journeys and overnight stays), colour pencils and an A4 sketch pad to record your trip, a deskcard insert so that the front part of the bag converts into a ‘desk’ to write on.
As a parent, I love the YUU bag as I know that my child will be comfortable carrying it and it will also hold everything she needs for a trip.
As a child, Jadyn loves it because of the cool features.
Priced at £45, it is well worth the cost. There are also a number of accessories that can be purchased to add to the bag.
