Yoshi’s Woolly World – Review

We were recently sent a lovely mailer from Nintendo as part of being a Nintendo Family Blogger and we created some lovely crafts with it. The icing on the cake was definitely playing the new game though.

Yoshi’s Woolly World is all about these adorable knitted figures that must be saved when they are turned into yarn. i normally play all the games with the children but this one has been so popular that I haven’t had a chance to play it. The review will have to come from the children themselves. Here’s what they have to say about the game –

We love Yoshi’s Woolly World as it is very exciting and most of all, the Yoshi characters are so sweet. We like all the yarn scenes and the characters and climbing on the clouds in the game. What we love the most is playing with the Amiibo and being able to unlock special characters. We also love the fact that if you put another Amiibo onto the console, Yoshi in the game, takes on the appearance of that character.

The game starts with a lovely world with little Yoshi characters moving around but the happiness is broken when Kraken comes and start turning the Yoshis into yarn. Yoshi manages to escape but then has to find the yarn and unlock characters. The game does require some skill.

I love these little knitted characters and the bright colours used in the game and the different scenes. Sometimes, Yoshi’s Woolly World seems very familiar and at times can be quite different from any other games.

In ‘mellow’ mode, you can fly your little Yoshi around so that it is easier.

I would say the game is suited to children but it’s cuteness make it appealing to adults as well.  The world of yarn seems to keep people all wrapped up.

Disclaimes: I was sent a copy of the game for review. All ideas and opinions are my own.
