I have written quite a few posts about How to Train Your Dragon 2 as the children love the films. I was lucky to interview Dean DeBlois and Bonnie Arnold and even take part in a Twitter tweet along. But this was something I just needed to write about because it was such a novel idea and in support of Children in Need.
The Tooth Fairy has a new look this month as an initiative inspired by How To Train Your Dragon 2 has seen hundreds of British kids pose for ‘Toothless Selfies’ and donate their tooth fairy money to BBC Children in Need.
The gappy grinned images taken during Toothless Selfie Month have been turned into a mosaic of Toothless himself, the heroic dragon from the smash hit How To Train Your Dragon 2, which is released on Blu-ray and DVD this week.
Hosted on the Netmums website, parents and their children have been following the link to the How To Train Your Dragon 2 Toothless Selfie page, uploading their pictures and donating their money to charity, using the hashtag #ToothlessSelfie. There is still time to join the hundreds of others forming Toothless, as the mosaic will continue to be updated until the end of November.
A spokesperson from Netmums said: “Over two groundbreaking animation films, Toothless has become an incredibly popular character and it’s great to see how he is now a role model for young children and is helping raise money for such a great cause.”
“Losing teeth is something that all children are faced with as they grow up and we’re delighted so many How To Train Your Dragon fans are taking this opportunity to upload their picture and take part in such an exciting activity inspired by a great film!”
Toothless is the funny and popular dragon character in the How To Train Your Dragon franchise which consistently breaks the global box office and the thrilling second chapter of the epic trilogy does not disappoint. The film sees the inseparable duo Hiccup the Viking and his faithful dragon Toothless return to protect the peace and save the future of men and dragons from the power-hungry.
