My children love The Gruffalo. In fact, we have read the book so many times that they probably know it by rote.
I often wonder how this creature has managed to steal the heart of so many children (mine included) but then I quite like the Gruffalo myself.
When I was given am opportunity to review The Gruffalo app, I knew the children would be thrilled to try it out and they were.
We quite enjoyed playing on the app – yes, even I had a go.
There are 6 games in the app –
- 3 in a row
- Nut Catch
- Marching Bugs
- Match Me
All are quite a lot of fun and are suitable even for younger children as there are different levels of difficulty in each. For example, the jigsaw can be a 4 part, 9 part or 16 part.
The children are enjoying playing on it and it’s rather nice for them to play with something familiar from a book. Obviously, we have been reading the book more often (which means we read it every night)
You can even try to win against the Gruffalo himself in the game of Snap (What fun!)
I think this is a must have app for every Gruffalo fan (read every child – as I am yet to come across a child who is not enamoured by the Gruffalo).
The app is aimed at children between 3 – 7 and it is perfect for this age in the levels of difficulty and the games. Even older children would definitely want to have a go and they can have fun playing Nut Catch which requires more skill.
I like Marching Bugs as it teaches children sequencing in a fun way.
The Gruffalo: Games iOS app is available to download at the price of £2.99
It has been launched today by Oscar-nominated entertainment company, Magic Light Pictures, and is based on the much-loved picture book, The Gruffalo, written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.
