The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been around since 1984 and it is great to know that some toys and chanracters have withstood the test of time. I remember my brother talking about them so it seems like deja vu when I find my son playing with these toys.
Needless to say I was quite happy when we were sent a collection of TMNT toys from Flair to review. It was also especially nice as Ethan had been rather unwell and this perked him up a great deal.
We were sent –
A Turtles Practice Pal – A 16″ Plush Turtle Figure that sounds out over 10 phrases and sounds.
Turtles Soft Foam Weapons
The shell of course is a great hit in the house with both Ethan and Aeryn vying for it. It is quite sturdy but not heavy so it is comfortable for a child to wear. It holds two weapons and I was pleased at the push cover which makes it easy to access the weapons. It can be also used as a shield. There are handy belts to adjust the shell to fit properly so it fits a good age range.
The weapons are authentic to the ninjas and we have been having a lot of fighting and ‘hi- -ya,’ We received the bad boy, Raphael’s, Sai and Ethan was pleased to have two weapons to practice the moves his ‘sensei’ teaches him! Hmmm…wonder who that is!! They are made of foam and thus cause no damage at all when fighting!
The plush toy is a very welcome toy and it is great for pummelling. When pressed or punched the turtle says some phrases. Ethan also gets to practice his ninja moves with it as it is quite large and soft.
Its great for parents too, I think, to get some stress relief…
The products are excellent for dress up and Ethan cannot wait for the next ‘Dress up’ day in school. I have to begin searching for a costume to go with it.
I cannot stress enough the need for imaginative play for children. It can take them into the realms where they can use their imaginations and be whatever they wish to be. It can make them creative and I am sometimes quite surprised with the wonderful games and ideas they come up with. These toys are ideal for this and I like having them around so that the children are more inclined to play with them than be stuck to an iPad or telly for the day.
The children play with the toys everyday and they love these toys.
