Talking about those ‘Ooops’ Moments…

There are some things we talk about – poo and wee -with our children. It seems a favourite topic with them and Mums.

There are some things we don’t talk about – like personal hygeine (even though we know that we may not be following it to the ‘T’) and those ‘oops’ moments. Come on, as a mum, we have probably all had it at at least once in our lifetime. You know, you sneeze and it may happen. You laugh, and it may happen.

It’s a part of the growing process – growing older, having a baby, having a C-Section or a stomach operation – it weakens the pelvic floor.

Yes, we are given a leaflet after having a baby and told that it’s important but how many of us ever take note and do this as part of our daily routine. I know I don’t. I know I should!!

I was invited by Tena to take part in a Hot Pod Yoga section in London. We had some stunning views of the city.

The session was about strengthening the pelvic floor.

There were a few other bloggers there too and I was pleased to see Carolynne from Mummy Endeavours. It was a horrible day and I almost backed out but I didn’t want to miss out on a Hot Pod Yoga class -it sounded delightful. I was a bit apprehensive as I’ve not done Yoga in years. The instructor was ever so flexible. I didn’t do too badly but let’s say I was no where near where she was.

It was a 1 hour work out session and we had to stop for several sips of water (at least I did) and it made me realise that I am badly out of shape.

We were provided with some very healthy snacks from Social Pantry and then the girls from Tena gave a short presentation about Lights by Tena. There are some interesting facts about bladder weakness –

  • 1 in 2 women in the UK have experienced light bladder weakness
  • It is quite common with up to 69% of pregnant women and new mums in the UK experiencing it at some point.
  • 1 in 5 women are so concerned about keeping light bladder weakness under wraps that they would rather go a week without make up than speak out! (WOW!!

Lights by Tena has launched a new App My pff (Pelvic floor fitness) , that walks you through demonstration videos, gives you help and support and even reminds you that you need to do your exercises. You can even sign up for free samples through the app.

We were provided with some samples and a lovely Yoga mat.

Alternatively, visit for more information and to order your free sample.

Disclaimer: I was invited to the above event and provided with a goody bag. All ideas and opinions are my own.
