Summer Craft – How to Make Summer Postcards

We love crafting – it’s making the time to do it that’s the difficult bit.

Being Bostik Craft Bloggers ensures that we carve out some time to get creative and make some crafts that are easy and look great too.

This month we were sent a box of craft goodies with the Outdoors theme. There were so many lovely things in there that we couldn’t quite decide what to do.

Finally, we decided to make some summer postcards that the children could send to their friends or relatives which incorporate the outdoors theme. We also make a lovely summer wreath – perfect to wear to a summer festival and decorated a bag which is great for a souvenir present.

For the summer postcards you need

  • Card
  • Green felt
  • Buttons – shaped like butterflies, frogs, dragonflies, flowers in different sizes
  • Felt flowers
  • Loom bands
  • Bostik foam pads
  • Bostik glue pen

Cut the card sheet in half.

Cut a broad strip of green felt. On one side cut into it to resemble grass.

Stick it onto the card.

Attach green felt stems. Make sure you put this under the strip of felt to make it look neater.

Add the flowers and then decorate with buttons. To give it a 3D effect, attach the buttons with foam pads.

Add butterfly and dragonfly buttons and add felt ladybirds. You can decorate it how you will.

For this post card we used the loom bands to form flowers and they did look rather nice.

It’s really easy to make these post cards and since they had made them, the children couldn’t wait to write them out. Perfect for getting the learning going through the holidays. 🙂
