My children love stories but then which child doesn’t? We read a story every night and then once a week it’s someone’s turn to make up their own bed time story which we all listen too. Yes, even my little 3 year old tells one. Although of course hers are a little like this….”A monkey was eaten by a shark and inside the shark monkey met a pirate…..”
Now, I had never heard of the story time app so after I downloaded it, I found it great for these story times.
Not on the high street had released this app in summer this year and there were five themes – space, fairytales, monsters, pirates and lost world. It covers a wide range of stories.
In time for Halloween, they have released some special sound effects to tell a spooky tale and get everyone pulling up their covers over their heads.
In fact, we had gone away for a mid week break and this came in pretty handy in the car when I was telling the kids a spooky story, to quieten them which got them spooked ( well they asked for it ….The scary story, I mean)
I particularly love the organ sound from the Halloween sounds. It is quite sinister.
I think the app is quite a lot of fun and the children love the new sound effects to our stories. We use the in books as well as telling our own stories. I feel it does help greatly here as the children now fight over telling stories.
The app is free to download and Not on the high street has made it easier for you to try out with this story here. It’s very interesting.
I am hoping that there will be more additions to the app as the children lve it.
