I’d forgotten how much fun it is to bake with the children. I remember a time when we would bake at least every week if not more for the different campaigns I would work on for the blog. Nowadays, I never seem to find the time to be able to get them together to cook/bake.
Luckily for me, I received an email inviting me to bake something creepy to celebrate the release of The Addams Family movie. It does help that Halloween is a week away. We knew immediately that we would be baking some fiendishly, flavourful cookies. I also knew these wouldn’t last very long – not in time for Halloween at least.
We were given some recipes to choose from – Thing Addam Popcorn Bags, Pumpkin Rice Crispies Treats and Spooky Spider Cookies.
Of course, we chose to make the cookies and we also added our own twist to some of them.
These were super easy to make and they taste(ed) delicious.
The children had a fun time mixing the ingredients and rolling out the dough.
I realized that I don’t have a round cookie cutter at home. I had to get rid of so many things when we moved. We managed, however, and the cookies turned out perfectly. As you can see…
They also went a little crazy and decided to design their own versions of Halloween cookies.
The cookies were delicious (note the past tense) as they’re all gone now. I guess I’ll just have to make some more for next week.
Are you looking forward to watching The Addams Family? We are and we’re going to make it a Halloween outing. We’ll definitely be taking along some cookies to munch.
We were also sent some lovely Addams Family merchandise to help set the mood for the movie. Do you like my screensaver?
