We’ve been watching Something Special for sometime now – ever since Jadyn was little and we still do as Aeryn likes watching it too.
We were recently sent a copy of the Something Special Interactive magazine and Aeryn enjoyed this magazine quite a bit.
The first thing she did was make the puppet and she did this on her own without any help from me.
The magazine is filled with things to do and came with a few toys –
- magnifying glass
- puppet making kit
The magazine also has the usual activities with stickers, puzzles and colouring in and supports the National Curriculum. There is also a story about Mr Tumble.
But this magazine also had something special. It was interactive.
All you have to do is download the Blippar App (iOS, Android and Windows) for free and then scan the pages that have the sign on it and you’re off. You can actually interact with Mr Tumble by singing along to songs or watching him paint a picture or even get a message from him.
Aeryn was quite thrilled with this aspect as she loves books and loves her tablet.
The magazine is engaging and is sure to be a big hit with little ones. There’s loads to do and being able to interact with it on a device makes it even more fun.
In keeping with the Something Special series on the telly, there is a signing section on each page where little ones can attempt sign language.
I would definitely recommend this magazine to pre-school children. It is out today and costs £2.99 so do pick up your copy.
I was sent the magazine for review. All ideas and opinions are my own.
