The Sing-A-Ma-Lings are rather strange toys – to be honest. You either like them or you don’t. We LIKE them.
At first glance, they are not, perhaps, a toy you would pick up from a shelf in a store. They look like baby toys that you wouldn’t (perhaps) give a baby. I’d urge you to look further.
When I showed them to my 5 year old – she went – ‘What are they?’ When I showed her what they can do, she was thrilled. Even, the poking fun 7 year old, enjoys making them sing and harmonise.
Yes, they can harmonise too – The Sing-A-Ma-Lings, I mean. Aeryn calls them the Singing Molings for some reason.
They are these funny little creatures, somewhat like teddy bears, yet not quite – that can sing.
Press their hand to access different modes – talking, singing, harmonising.
In the talking mode, they say words and phrases like ‘how are you’ ‘howdy’.
In singing mode, the yellow one – Bo, sings ‘Clementine’ and the pink one – Blush, sings ‘Mary had a little lamb’
In harmonising mode – they sing notes and harmonise.
They appealing thing (to the kids at least) is that they actually open their mouths when singing. Something I have always told my children to do while singing but they don’t.
The children of course, have found hilarious ways of playing with the Sing- A-Ma-Lings and making them bite their fingers.
They are priced at £9.99 and are good value for money. Aimed at ages 3 – 5, they will provide fun play to even older children. They are available at Argos
Here’s a video of how they actually work –
