Christmas is definitely a special time – at least for me. To me, it’s all about family and getting together and spreading the cheer. I love that there seems to be such a special feeling everywhere – even on telly.
One of my favourite things to do at Christmas time is to watch ‘feel good’ movies that are always on around this time. It’s also the perfect weather for staying in and cuddling up with the children and watching a happy ending with popcorn…and some mulled wine (for me).
Sky Movies has an excellent selection of movies on already in the run up to Christmas but there are some that are going to be aired over the Christmas period itself – Muppets Most Wanted, Frozen, Spiderman 2 and The Lego Movie. And the greatest part is that they are all On Demand if you miss them.
One aspect of Christmas that I love is the sending of Christmas cards. It is such a lovely gesture and shows that you are thinking of someone. It is a wonderful way of spreading the love this season.
I love personalised cards as they are a perfect way of creating something special for that someone special.
This Christmas, Sky is offering families and film fans the chance to create their own movie adventure, by launching an online Christmas card. The #MovieMe card creator gives everyone the chance to star in a familiar film scene this festive season, alongside favourite characters from the biggest family films available on Sky Movies this Christmas
You can upload a photo of yourself along side your favourite characters.
It really was simple to make the card. All you need to do is –
- Choose a theme
- Add your photos – you can do this from your device, from Facebook or by taking a photo.
- You then add your name
- Review your card
- Send it via email to your friends or yourself or share it on Facebook and Twitter. You can even have it posted to you as Sky will send 3 postcard versions of your card. (while stocks last)
It’s perfect and both Jadyn and Ethan tried their hand at making a card to send to their grandparents.
Here are 2 of the many we created
There are 4 themes – Frozen, Spiderman, Muppets and The Lego Movie – all definitely popular with children this year.
I quite liked the options to have either one or more than one photo on a card. It helps the personalisation. It was also great that it just picked up the faces out of a photo so I didn’t have to post the full photo.
This kind of card is definitely for people like me, who make lists and then realise they’ve forgotten someone. All I need to do is get online and make a lovely Frozen card that will reach in minutes.
The children want to keep making cards so don’t be surprised if you see many more on my Twitter feed and Facebook.
Why don’t you try your hand at making some? I’d love to see what creations you come up with. Tag me (@jacintaz3) and Sky Movies(@SkyMovies) on Twitter so we can have a look.
Have you seen the Sky Movies Christmas advertisement? I think it’s delightful as it takes a family through the amazing movie worlds. I wouldn’t mind being transported like that!
