The Rustlers Burger Hack Challenge

There are days when I don’t feel like cooking at all. And I don’t really want to pens a whole lot on a takeaway. These are the days I look for quick meals that I can serve in minutes that the whole family can enjoy.

I was recently invited to join the Rustlers challenge with BritMums where I had to show how I hack a Rustlers meal. A little more about Rustlers –

Rustlers brings families the ultimate tasty and quick burgers. Rustlers Southern Fried Chicken Burgers Twin Pack contain marinated chicken with a southern fried breadcrumb bringing out an authentic taste – but your family can create unique, tasty burgers dressed up with all sorts of ingredients you choose!

We tried the Southern Fried Chicken burger and all I needed to do was to put it in the microwave for 90 secs.

The day I served up these burgers was a day I was particularly off being in the kitchen for long so to make it a little balanced I served up a salad to go with it. Just a simple salad (I always like those best). My salad contained some mixed leaves – spinach, cress and rocket and some delicious Piccolo tomatoes that are bursting with sweetness. I mixed it together with some balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper and olive oil. And added a few olives for good measure.

I wanted to also keep it simple because I wanted to taste the burger so the burger was served only with the mayo provided in the pack.

The burger was quite tasty and the kids enjoyed eating it. Yes, obviously there is a difference from a freshly made burger but being able to serve up a tasty burger in 90 seconds can make me forget that.

I don’t make it a a bit of serving microwaveable food to the kids everyday but Rustlers are great for when you need to make something quick.
