Christmas will soon be upon us and to get on top of it, many have already started their shopping. I haven’t, but I have been looking around and keeping in mind what I may need or like to pick up.
One thing that I get pretty early is Christmas cards. I normally pick up a packet of cards and send them out to friends and family and of course pick up a few extra special ones for close family and friends.
Since I am a Blogger Ambassador for Action Med Research, I wanted to bring you a peek at their wonderful Christmas card collection and their new T-shirt venture.
Charity Christmas cards are big business, but are they all the real deal? Children’s Charity Action Medical Research has launched a unique range of Christmas cards, from which EVERY penny will go to the charity to help fund vital research for sick and disabled babies and children.
There are 12 card designs from the cream of the greetings card industry, reflecting diversity in style, genre and subject, from: Julia Hook Designs, Linda Wood Designs, Paper Salad, The London Studio, Berni Parker, Trumpers World, Wrendale Designs, Celia Pike, Libby McMullin, Dilys Treacle Treasures, Cherry Picked For You and Hels Bells.
Action Medical Research is currently funding research into conditions including Down syndrome, premature birth, epilepsy, meningitis and rare diseases that severely affect babies and children. Medical research can save and change children’s lives. Yet surprisingly, medical research into conditions that devastate children’s lives is poorly funded.
As well as being available via the charity website at http://www.action.org.uk/christmas_cards the packs of ‘real deal’ Christmas cards will be sold through the Action fundraising volunteer groups around the country and Lynn Tait’s Gallery shop, Leigh On Sea, Essex.
The cards are available in packs of 5 for £3.50.
I have had the pleasure of being sent one card of each design and I must say that I am most impressed with the quality of the cards. The designs are beautiful and am sure that family and friends will enjoy receiving the cards.
Another great venture is the new, fun, innovative and FREE phone and web app that will enable people to buy uniquely personalised T-Shirts featuring their favourite children’s characters while raising money for good causes.
Action Medical Research and its fundraising mascot Paddington Bear are extending their partnership for the T-Shirt Booth app, which will enable young fans to choose which star they want to wear on their shirt, along with a message and a photo.
For the T-Shirt Booth app, Paddington Bear joins a fantastic line-up which also includes characters from Moshi Monsters, Ben 10, Babar, Bin Weevils, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the casts of Lazy Town, Adventure Time, In the Night Garden, and many more.
Customers will download the free T-Shirt Booth App, choose the character they want and the colour and size of garment. They will then need to take a photo with their phone of the person whose picture they want to appear on the T-Shirt, and type in their name.
The App is available via the Apple Store and via Google Play for Android – and it can be downloaded directly from the T-Shirt Booth website – www.t-booth.net
The T-Shirts will include the character, the logo of the charity that the character is affiliated to, the photo and message. They are available in a wide range of colours and children’s sizes. Each T-Shirt will be competitively priced at £9.99, with £2.00 from each sale going to the charity associated with the character purchased.
I think this would make a lovely Christmas present and it would also be helping a charity so it’s really a win-win situation.
I have not ordered mine yet but I am going to order some for the children because I know they will just love it.
