These Real Construction play sets from Jakks Toys really provided many hours of fun for the kids and me too.
The Real Construction sets are made up of foam pieces designed to look like wood that you can cut with saws that are not dangerous and you can also use screws and nails.
I had seen and tried the sets at Dream Toys last month and thought that the children would enjoy working on this especially Ethan as I do know that he loves creating/modelling. Throw in a saw and a hammer and nails and I was the best Mummy ever.
The perfect set for the beginner craftsman! The Real Construction Starter set has everything you need to get started including a small hammer, saw, nails and wood-like material which cuts just like real wood! The set comes complete with instructions for six projects, with enough materials to build three complete projects – you’ll be able to build anything you can imagine!
Real Construction Deluxe Workshop Set (RRP £24.99)
Enjoy hours of building and construction fun with the Real Construction Deluxe Workshop Set. With over 125 pieces, this extensive set comes with everything budding craftsmen need to complete their own projects. Check your angles with the set square, cut the wood-like material with the child-friendly plastic saw, then use the hammer and nails to build your design. The set comes complete with instructions for eight project ideas and enough material to complete four designs.
How did we get on?
It was so easy to saw the pieces to the desired length. With the help of the set square, we even manages to get the shapes that were not entirely straight just fine. In the end, we were all sat at the table creating our projects.
We made a plane from the instructions,
a speedboat from the Beano magazine (it had step by step instructions on how to make the below)
and then created our own house.
The saw is harmless to children (do bear in mind that this is targeted to slightly older children) and yet cuts thought the wood-like material easily.
We enjoyed creating with this and obviously this receives the Elves’ Choice stamp for Top Toys for 2016.
