Quick and Easy Balti Chicken using the Schwartz Recipe Mix

You may have read that I was lucky to receive a Degustabox to review. In it, there were recipe mixes and I decided to use the Balti chicken for a family meal. I don’t use mixes very often but when I am short of time and feel lazy to think of what to cook, I find these are really helpful as I have a tasty meal prepared in minutes.

It’s easy to follow the recipe on the packet.

For the Balti chicken you need –

  • Schwartz Balti recipe mix
  • 1 lb chicken breasts cut into cubes
  • 400 gms Cirio Tomato fillets
  • 2 tbsp Cirio Tomato puree
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 dash of cream

Add the chicken and the spice from the sachet and fry until the chicken is browned slightly. Add the puree and cook for a few more minutes.

Add the peppers and fry for 1 – 2 minutes. Then add the tinned tomatoes and bring to boil.

Turn down the heat and simmer, covered for about 15 – 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through. Check from time to time and stir so that the gravy does not catch the bottom of the pan. Stir in a dash of cream.

Serve with naan bread. Or rice. But personally, I think the gravy is lovely with naan bread.

This was a quick and easy to make dish with products that are easily available. It is a bit spicy so younger children may not be able to stomach it. It does taste really delicious.
