Summer holidays can be very ‘boring’ for children and unless I can keep them occupied, they are more than likely to be sitting in front of the telly or a device, all their waking hours.
Hubs and I try our best to keep them occupied by taking them out and about so they don’t get ‘bored’.
I was happy to read that Npower is offering their customers 2 for 1 entry into 900 attractions around the UK. Their campaign is about “supporting parents during the summer months when it can be quite stressful and difficult to keep children busy”. They are “offering these discounts to give them a fun-filled, stress-free summer and to thank them for being an npower customer”.
I especially love the City Cruises tour as it offers a lovely tour of the sights of London by boat. I believe that the children should keep up with learning during the holidays and what could be better than a learning experience of this kind.
There are tours from 30 minutes – 3 hours so it all depends on how long you want to be on the boat. It is really an excellent way of getting close to the beautiful buildings and historical sites on the Thames.
It is easy to get the boat as you need to get to Westminster from where the boat departs.
I would suggest that you pack a lunch and snacks as I always find my children get hungry when they are travelling and if it’s a hot day -carry a lot of water of course.
It is lovely being on a day out on the Thames and if the weather holds be prepared to get some lovely pictures with your camera.
How much do you save? Well, of course that depends on what you choose to do. For example on a return trip from Westminster to Greenwich Pier, you would save at least £23 for a family of four, which could be used towards lunch.
I think this is a great initiative by Npower for their customers during summer. It’s a perfect way to save on a day out with the children. There are many activities that you can choose from – diving, visiting historical places, Brit Movie tours, Laser Quest, Little Sports Stars and more.
