Saturday was Valentine’s Day but we headed off for a very exciting event that was not about love and hearts. Refreshing!!
We were invited to a Ninja Class to celebrate the launch of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie on Blu-ray and VOD this week.
The Ninja Class was run by Xen-Do Martial Arts in Baker Street. The children were very excited – well, the older two actually as Aeryn was too young for the class. And Ethan was most excited as he loves the Ninja Turtles. Besides a class where he learns to kick and punch? Thrilling!!
Xen-Do was easy to find and there was parking just outside. Expensive parking but parking nonetheless.
The class was taken by Sensei Rafael Neito and four masters. Sensei was quite strict but a lovely person and the children though nervous at the beginning were soon enjoying the class and putting their best foot forward.
They learnt to punch, kick, jump kick and saw the masters perform spin kicks that Ethan is quite taken with. They were also given gloves and boots to kick and punch with.
I was very proud of Jadyn as she was given a prize for trying the hardest – she has never done any Martial Arts. In fact, it was supposed to be a prize for the best performer but the Sensei said that it was important that one tries the hardest because it’s easy to perform well when you know moves already.
It really did wonders for her confidence as she was a bit sceptical about joining the class as there were all boys there except for another young lady and herself.
We were also given a goody bag to take home that had a copy of the film, TMNT headphones and TMNT foam hands.
The first thing we did when we reached home was to watch the film and we enjoyed it.
It was a lovely afternoon and we had a great time.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is out on Blu ray, DVD and Digital HD now.

We were invited to attend the class and provided with a goody bag. All ideas and opinions are my own.
