My Belvita #MorningWin

I don’t look forward to school runs especially like tomorrow – it’s Monday. After the weekend, the children seem so much less inclined to get ready for school. It’s not that they don’t like school – it’s just that they don’t seem to like getting dressed for school.

We get there eventually but it’s after a lot of yelling myself hoarse and threats that they will not get the iPad when they  get home!!

But as I walk with them to school, I realise that this is the best part of the morning  – holding their little hands in mine, listen to their chatter and play games too.

We play ‘I-Spy’, read road signs and wonder aloud how our day is going to be. We have been lucky to see some not-so-common birds on our way too.

My morning win has to be the time when we all kiss each other goodbye. It is so adorable to see them pucker up and kiss each other before they leave each other for the day. Yes, they are in the same school but they don’t end up seeing each other sometimes as they have different playtimes. It’s such a wonderful start to my day – every day!

When I was given an opportunity to try out belVita’s lovely new range of biscuits – belVita Crunchy, I knew this would be another morning win for me as I am always stressed and rarely find the time to have breakfast myself even though I ensure that the children have a good breakfast.

I was sent three boxes of new belVita Crunchy to try out – Apricot, Hazelnut and Chocolate Chip and all are so delicious.

My favourite is the Apricot while the children love the Chocolate Chip and Hazelnut.

I love the extra crunchiness of the new range and I love munching on one while I am getting breakfast ready for the children.  (it’s so convenient as I can even carry some in my handbag) However, I do look forward to getting back after the school run and enjoying the rest with a cup of tea.

The biscuits are quite filling and perfect for me as I am trying to lose weight. I love the  delicious ingredients that make them even more crunchier that adds that extra zing to my breakfast. You can ‘see’ they are crunchy –

As they are the only breakfast biscuits proven to slowly release carbohydrates over four hours when eaten as part of a balanced breakfast, they keep me full for longer and I don’t crave snacks mid morning. I am able to go without snacking till lunch (even if it’s a late lunch)

Here’s a little more about my morning win story –

We run,we run out the door
The school run is my only woe
I hate to get up close to dawn
And face another gloomy morn.
I hoot and holler in my despair
As I ask once again have you brushed your hair?
Have you brushed your teeth?
Have you changed your clothes?
Are your books in your bag?
It’s time to go.
I get no reply and take a peek to see
They’re not yet dressed they’re watching TV!!
I holler some more and in five minutes flat
We’re dressed and ready – even gloves and hats.
We slowly walk down the road to school –
We even play ‘I Spy’ and it’s so cool.
We spot birds and trees in different hues
Underneath the sky so blue.
I actually love the morning walk
Enjoying hearing the children talk
Sometimes I can’t hear myself over the din
But I realise this is my morning win
As they say goodbye with a hug and a kiss
I know it’s them at home I’ll miss
But it’s time to look forward to time for me
As I munch on belVita Crunchy and a cup of tea.

  1. I always found the getting ready to school mornings a challenge and am relishing the days now where only one of my three goes to school and he is a teenager and can sort most things himself. Commenting for myself and on behalf of BritMums and thanking you for taking part
