Blocks – the building blocks of a child’s creativity, giving them the option to build sometimes as only they can see, to unleash their imagination and create something that is amazingly so true to life when looked at closely.
I don’t mind getting the children blocks to play with as they are great for development. We were sent this bag of Megabloks First builders to review and I obviously did not refuse.
The blocks are brightly coloured in the primary colours and large enough for little hands.
I find blocks have a many uses for entertainment and learning. It is great for teaching colours and making a child group them according to colour. You can also teach numbers and counting with them. And yes – they are great for use as pretend food too.
Why we like these megabloks –
- They are colourful
- A good size for little hands
- Builds development with hand to eye coordination
- Stimulates creativity
- Great for teaching colours
Ethan has progressed to smaller blocks but still enjoys building with these sometimes as the final result is so much larger.
Aeryn enjoys playing with them and makes animals and houses.
We sometimes have competitions to see who can build the tallest tower and the children have great fun breaking them down almost immediately after building them.
The blocks also come in a handy storage bag so that they are not strewn all over the place.
The Megabloks are priced at £14.99 and are excellent value for money. The bag contains 60 pieces.
