This recipe is a great recipe for children. Don’t all children love mash? Well, what could be better than baked mash with a surprise cheesy centre?
Jadyn, 9 came up with this great recipe, that even we adults enjoyed.
For the mash
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
Salt to taste
For the bake
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Primula cheese and ham
Peel and boil the potatoes.
Add the Parmesan cheese, milk, salt and pepper and use a potato masher to make a smooth mash.
Take 4 – 6 ramekins and lightly grease them. Alternatively, you can use silicon moulds like I have done and place them in a muffin tray.
Pre-heat the oven to 200˚C
Mix the mashed potato with the egg and the baking powder.
Add a dollop of mash in the mould/ramekin.
Now squeeze some Primula cheese onto the mash.
Cover the cheese with mash.
Use a pastry brush to brush the top with melted butter.
Cook in the oven for about 15 – 20 minutes.
