So, for those of you who know me, you may know that I am a huge Samsung fan. I had an S4 before I got my trusty K-Zoom (a phone that still has the wow factor wherever I go) I use nothing else for my photos as it’s so convenient.
However, off late, I’ve been having serious battery problems where it doesn’t even last half a day. (I have had it for over 2 years now)
Luckily for me, I was invited to the launch of the Galaxy A series with Samsung. It was held at the impressive Mondrian Hotel in London with stunning views of the Thames. We were also provided with a delicious lunch…and dessert.
Can I say that I am slightly in love with the A5?
It’s one thing to see the phone online. It’s another to be able to try out the features for yourself.
So, what’s the hype about the new Galaxy A series?
First of all, both the A3 and A5 come with seriously good cameras with the A5 boasting a 16MP front and rear camera and the A3 featuring a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera.
There are also cool features like the floating camera button (it means no awkward photos), an embedded camera (so it doesn’t scratch the lens), easy swipe to change from selfie to normal mode and super accurate autofocus. I found that the photos were quite a lot clearer than my K-Zoom that I swear by.
The phone itself is a good size with the A3 being smaller than the A5 but still a good size. Of course, the A5 has a larger screen but is still not too large for the hand.
The glass screen with the wrap around effect is something that I liked. It also doesn’t seem to have that much of a ‘slip’ factor.
And indeed if it does slip and if you are standing near water, don’t fear because it waterproof up to , thanks to Gore-Tex technology that has been cleverly used for the points.
The A series feature long lasting battery life (just what I need!) with the A5 also featuring a super fast charger. (My kind of phone as I’m always needing to charge it fast to take pictures for my blog)
Last but not least, I LOVE the amazing colours that they are in – Black Sky, Blue Mist, Gold Sand and Peach Cloud.
My favourite – Blue Mist. It looks classy and cool. Perfect for me.
The phones are priced at £369 for the A5 and £279 for the A3.
If you’re thinking of changing your phone, I’d really advise you to check these out with your provider. You can also find out more about the phones at Samsung
