About two weeks ago, we were invited to a special LEGO event. It was the release of the new LEGO Batman series being released with the launch of the LEGO Batman DVD.
We made our way to the lovely OXO Tower and were greeted with all things LEGO.
We even got an opportunity to meet Batman and Batgirl.
The children, of course, enjoyed the lovely game of hook a duck that hooked them a few blind bags. They were sorry not to be lucky enough to hook bigger prizes but loved setting up the little Batman figures.
Ethan even dressed up as LEGO Batman.
We were fed some delicious food and ended the day with ice-cream too.
And we went home with goody bags that kept the children busy for the rest of the day. We had a LEGO Batman DVD in the bag so we settled down to watch it.
We enjoyed the film as it filled with adventure and action and included some of the quips that one has come to expect from LEGO movies, making them unique and so much fun.
If you get an opportunity, you must watch it.
About the LEGO Batman film –
In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
Will Arnett reprises his starring role from “The LEGO Movie” as the voice of LEGO Batman, aka Bruce Wayne. Zach Galifianakis (“Muppets Most Wanted,” the “Hangover” films) stars as The Joker; Michael Cera (TV’s “Arrested Development”) as the orphan Dick Grayson; Rosario Dawson (TV’s “Daredevil”) as Barbara Gordon; and Ralph Fiennes (the “Harry Potter” films) as Alfred.
“The LEGO® Batman Movie” is directed by Chris McKay, and produced by Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Roy Lee, who worked together on “The LEGO Movie.” The screenplay is by Seth Grahame-Smith and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers and Jared Stern & John Whittington, story by Seth Grahame-Smith, based on LEGO Construction Toys and based on characters from DC Entertainment. Batman created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger; Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Jill Wilfert, Matthew Ashton, Will Allegra and Brad Lewis serve as executive producers.
And you must be a huge LEGO fan too (who isn’t?) so here’s a look at the amazing Batman related LEGO sets that are out now.
