We’ve all played monopoly and perhaps many of us still do. We love playing monopoly too. Over the course of the years, there have been many versions of the game. Allow me to introduce you to Monopoly Gamer and tell you what we thought of the game.
First of all, there are twists to the game and it’s not the same as playing the original monopoly. Besides playing with Nintendo characters, the board features places from the Nintendo network like Princess Peach’s castle.
The tokens are replaced by Mario, Princess Peach, Yoshi and Donkey Kong. Instead of money, you have coins. And you go around the board buying properties as usual but you also drop coins and have Boss Fights! Cool or what!
When you land on some board spaces like the superstar, you are able to power up to activate a character’s unique super star ability and get people to give up coins or drop coins. As you go around the board, you are able to pick up coins in spaces that you pass helping you to add to your stash.
You get points on each of the cards and when you’ve completed all the Boss Fights in the game, you add up points to determine who has won.
The game is definitely a change to the normal Monopoly and it is fast paced. It is also a shorter game and thus better for younger children. The notes being replaced by coins make it easy for younger ones to play.
With the colder evenings setting in, this is an ideal game to play with the family. It has aspects of the old Monopoly with new Nintendo Twists. Monopoly Gamer from Hasbro is priced at £28.99 and is available at Amazon and other major retailers.
It’s definitely one to play with over the holidays.
