Flying Visit to the City of Angels: Plan Your Weekend in LA

Los Angeles is not exactly the perfect location for a flying visit. The city is so large that it would take months to do it justice, but if you only have a few days to spend here, you’re going to have to prioritize your time so you make the most of your short stay. Here are a few of the best things to do while you’re here.

Head to the Beach

Venice Beach is one of the most famous spots in LA, mainly for its boardwalk. There’s a great vibe and you’ll find a bike path, Muscle Beach with its bodybuilders, plenty of street performers, and lots of places to eat making it a great place to spend a few hours.

Watch a Baseball Game

You should definitely try to catch a baseball game during your time here, and the place to go is Dodger Stadium.

Find out whether a game is on during your stay, then book tickets ahead. Try to stay nearby if you can so that getting back to your hotel is easier. JW Marriott LA is a convenient option because it’s not far away.

Alternatively, try and get tickets to the Staples Center to watch the Lakers play if basketball is more your thing.

Visit Santa Monica Pier

Santa Monica Pier is another fun place to visit. It has been filmed in so many movies that you’ll probably recognize it as soon as you turn up. Go for a ride on the Ferris Wheel, and there are lots of bars and places to eat.

Eat at the Farmers’ Market

You won’t be short of places to eat in LA. But if you can make time for it, head to the Farmers’ Market. There are lots of food stalls with all kinds of different food in this historic city landmark dating back to the 1930s, and it’s a great place to try something new.

See the Hollywood Sign and the Walk of Fame

You should definitely take a trip to Hollywood during your short stay in LA. There is plenty to see and do here, from taking a photo of the famous Hollywood Sign to walking down Sunset Boulevard and finding your favorite star’s handprints on the Walk of Fame. It’s touristy, but it’s essential, and there is also great nightlife here if you fancy a night out.

Visit LA Zoo

Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens is another highlight worth visiting, so consider adding it to your itinerary. If you love animals and you’ve got a few hours to spare, it’s a great way to spend the afternoon.

You’ll find a wide range of exotic animals of all shapes and sizes here, including gorillas, chimpanzees, black bears, elephants, hippos, and plenty more. It’s sure to provide you with hours of fun, especially if you visit with kids.
