Dr Seuss Books Review

Dr Seuss famous for his hilarious rhymes that are sometimes deceptively nonsensical but actually teach children rhyming patterns that are easy for them to read.

If you’ve read any of his books, you’ll sometimes wonder where the book starts and where it ends but one thing is sure, he is a genius when it comes to entertaining children and his books leave the children in fits of giggles and laughter and also with a great many questions.

We were sent two books – The Cat in the Hat (an old favourite) and – One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.

The Cat in the Hat

This old favourite never fails to entertain. When a cat decides to amuse two children with hilarious consequences, the story is set to be a hit. The rhyming lines and the illustrations add to the comic effect and the children are instantly intrigued and captured by the world that Dr. Seuss creates.

This is priced at £3.99 and is available at Amazon and all other major retailers.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

This book had the children giggling throughout. While they questioned the fact that we moved on from fish to cars and people and animals, they thought it was funny and were soon reciting the rhymes with me as I read to them. They found the ‘go and ask your dad and mum’ bit especially funny. From the seven humped Wump to the boxing Gox – each character is unique and takes the children to flights of fancy and imagination.

We loved the book. And like all other Dr Seuss books, we would recommend this one for the family library as it is quite timeless.

Priced at £6.99, it is available at Amazon and all major retailers.

These are the books that I enjoy reading to my children.

Disclosure: I was sent the above books for review. All ideas and opinions are my own.
