Disney’s Alice Through The Looking Glass – Review

Alice Through the Looking Glass is the latest Disney venture for a new take on the old favourite. It is actually a continuation of the story as Alice, now grown comes back to help the Mad Hatter.

The film is appealing to both adults and children especially children, with the costumes and the air of magic in it. Go back in time to change history? Yes please – the kids love it.

Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter is relegated to the back seat as Alice (Mia) takes the lead and excels in her role. Alice has to save the Hatter by changing history and keeping his family safe. Sacha as Time is perhaps the best of all with his race to turn the Wonderland into a barren place.

The storyline is simple. The effects are amazing and the travel through time so well shown.

It’s not just the tale of Alice following the White Rabbit but more of a story wound into it.

Humour, interspersed with  awesome effects, makes this a film that is entertaining for the whole family. There are quite a few action sequences that will appeal to all and in no way did the film drag for any of us contrary to reviews I’ve read lately.

We enjoyed the film and though it did not have the same impact as the other Disney film we saw recently, it is one that the family can enjoy.

We were invited to a special screening. All ideas and opinions are my own.
