Jewellery goes down very well with Jadyn. But obviously! She’s my daughter!!
Making her own jewellery is something that she likes even more. Personally, I would rather stick to the store bought variety.
Getting back to the point of the post – we were sent this lovely new Festival Jewellery Set from My Style and we couldn’t wait to get making.
The set consists of –
- Wide Faux Leather
- Cord – 2 colours
- Waxed Cotton
- Cord – 4 colours
- Feathers – 2 colours in pink and purple
- Clamshell Clasps
- 2 x Charms
- Ear Hooks
- Jump Rings
- Selection of Beads
- Metal Star Beads
- Bracelet Maker Wheel
- 16 Page Instruction Manual
You can create 9 pieces of jewellery with it – earrings, necklace, bracelets of different types – cord, faux leather and beaded cord.
We created the faux leather bracelet first and it was quite easy to make. The instructions are quite easy to follow too. The bracelet looks lovely.
The quality of the products is good and it makes some rather nice looking jewellery for a little girl to either keep or giveaway to her ‘bestie’. (which is what Jadyn did as she made a bracelet for her BFF)
We then tried making the necklace and the earrings and this too came out well. We did have a few problems putting the beads onto the cord so we abandoned the idea and just used the feathers which look nice on their own.
Jadyn tried the corded bracelet but she found the directions a bit confusing so we have left it for the time being.
What I like about the jewellery is that it does not look like dress up jewellery but like costume/fashion jewellery and any little girl would be thrilled to be wearing jewellery created by herself.
The set is priced at £9.99 and I think it is great value for money. Perfect for a birthday present, any little girl would love to have one of these.
