I have reviewed a few restaurants lately and they have all been rather nice. I had the option to review yet another with the family and this time we visited Clapham Tandoori.
Now, to many children, Indian food may not be the first choice as it is inevitably spicy and no something children can handle. My younger two are not big fans of Indian food but Jadyn quite enjoys it.
Clapham Tandoori is just opposite Clapham Common underground station and it is quite a busy area.
The restaurant is not very large but the tables are laid out such that there is enough space between them.
The menu consists of starters and main courses – both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. There is quite a wide choice of dishes and they do have some of the old favourites like Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken.
For drinks we ordered Sweet Lassi and this was delicious.
We started off with the Papadams and dips and the children enjoyed these (they were probably full up with this alone)
For starters, we ordered Fish Tikka and Momos. The fish tikka was very tasty although the quantity was a little less when compared to other places.
We were a little disappointed with the Momos as they were more of a spring roll rather than a Momo which is a dumpling. They tasted quite nice though. It’s just that we were expecting something different when we ordered momos.
The main dishes were lovely and the quantity was very generous. We had them with butter naans and these were served warm and were delicious.
We adults had the Tandoori King Prawn Masala which was really nice, Gohst Kata Masala and Kashi Ka Panga.
The children love panir so we ordered them a Panir Malai Kofta.
As you can see the dishes look quite delicious and they were delicious to taste too.
Only one thing – there were no high chairs for the little one. As Aeryn is 3 she can manage in a normal chair but for a smaller child this may be a problem.
The staff are great and courteous and all in all we enjoyed the food.
