We recently returned from an amazing short break in Wales at Croft Farm. The cottage we stayed in was charming with stunning views over the Welsh countryside.
We visited places, beaches and had a wonderful time relaxing and spending quality time together but the highlight of the trip for these city kids was the morning spent on the farm.
The children obviously do not have huge opportunities to get up close on personal with farm animals except if you actually take them to a farm attraction (which we haven’t done so far). I know that they are a bit nervous of animals but contrary to that are constantly asking for a pet.
What I didn’t expect them to do was to take to feeding the animals and petting the animals the way they did. It kind of makes me wonder if I read them wrong sometimes.
Croft Farm is ideal for children to interact with the animals. There are goats, pigs, chickens, donkeys and rabbits and guinea pigs.
The children enjoyed petting the rabbits and guinea pigs – they were quite adorable (the animals that is!)
They then fed the goats by hand.
And scattered some food for the pigs and the chickens.
And they didn’t want to leave.
It was great to see the unadulterated joy on their faces as they interacted with and fed the animals. Makes a change from them doing it on an App!!
At the end of it all – their clothes were covered in rabbit hair and their shoes were muddy. But hey – they had fun.
They want a pet rabbit, a dog, guinea pig and wouldn’t even mind a donkey. Any farms around London for sale?
