On Saturday, we headed off early into London for yet another preview. This was a special one – we were going to see Ice Age – Collision Course and then head off to Pizza Express for a pizza making party.
I think Ice Age always inspires laughter and entertainment and I’m glad to know that despite there being so many sequels, they always manage to be huge hits.
Here’s what it’s about –
Scrat’s epic pursuit of the elusive acorn catapults him into the universe where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the Ice Age World. To save themselves, Sid, Manny, Diego, and the rest of the herd must leave their home and embark on a quest full of comedy and adventure, travelling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colorful new characters.
We loved the film – it was loads of fun with our favourite characters back to make us laugh and feel emotional. I’m not going to spoil it for you but this I will say – you must watch it. It has it’s funny moments and it’s poignant ones.
After the film, we headed off to the Pizza Express at Leicester Square for a pizza making party which the children had been looking forward to for ages.
If you didn’t know, you can book a pizza making party at Pizza Express where you can make your own pizza. You actually make the dough such that there is a ridge on the edge so that the tomato sauce doesn’t roll off. The dough was really stretchy and supple. Now we know why pizzas at Pizza Express taste so great.
The children then added their own toppings depending on what they wanted on their pizzas. And then it was put in the oven to cook. The pizzas were ready in about 5 minutes and I was quite surprised with that as I always thought that pizzas take longer. They were all well-cooked and they tasted amazing. Good choice of toppings, kids!
The children enjoyed making their own pizzas and because they made it and chose their own toppings, it all went down without complaint. They had a lovely time making their own pizzas.
I tried the new Hawaiian pizza and it was delicious. Do try it when you visit as it contains an amazing pineapple sauce instead of chunks and this makes it so much more flavoursome.
As stuffed as we were, we had dessert and I had the most delicious cheesecake ever – it was creamy and tasted like a panna cotta on a biscuit base. I chose to have mine with mascarpone and it just added to the speciality of the dessert.
Now the best part – if you visit Pizza Express with the children and decide to order a Piccolo meal, you receive a children’s menu. And it is here that it gets exciting as you could win a holiday to Hollywood, Ice Age toys, goody bags and more. All you need to do is get your little one to draw a picture of their favourite Ice Age character with a pizza. Easy peasy!
We were given complimentary tickets to the film preview and invited to a pizza making party at Pizza Express. All ideas and opinions are my own.
