Captain Pug: The Dog Who Sailed the Seas: Review

We do read a lot and we were recently sent Captain Pug:The Dog who Sailed the Seas by Laura James to review. We loved it and here are our thoughts on the book –

What it’s about –

Pug is going on a seafaring adventure. He’s had jam tarts for breakfast. He’s wearing a smart sailor suit. There’s just one problem. Pug is afraid of the water!

Captain Pug is the first book in a glorious new illustrated series for fans of Claude and Squishy McFluff.

What we thought –

The kids love dogs and pugs you have to admit are quite adorable. No surprise then that this book went down very well with them.

Captain Pug is a lovely story book aimed at children aged 5 – 7 years, children who are learning to read and who can read by themselves.

The story is well written and  lucid and clear and the writing is perfect for this age group. We loved the reference to the rich little ladies and them being carried around – sound rather spoilt.

The children loved hearing about Captain Pug’s adventures and especially loved the illustration.

I would definitely recommend this book for pug lovers and even if you aren’t, Im sure you’ll love this book too.

It is priced at £5.99 and is available at all major retailers.
