I love plush toys and when I would visit places before, instead of a fridge magnet, I would normally pick up a plush. Nowadays, I think I would look a bit silly doing the same as my children normally pick one up so I live through them. I secretly still enjoy cuddling a plush – I mean, who wouldn’t?
Since these still appeal to the child in me, I can quite imagine how wonderful they must be to little children who receive them.
So, I was quite sad that I could not make the Build-A-Bear Workshop campaign launch with Starlight Children’s Foundation – a national charity that grants wishes for seriously and terminally ill children and provides entertainment in hospitals and hospices across the UK.
Saturday’s event at The Oracle Build-A-Bear Workshop store saw local Starlight Wish Children invited to take part in a special bear making ceremony which was followed by a day-long Stuffed with Hugs initiative that saw the public make special fifty Stuffed With Hugs bears, which will then be gifted to Starlight Wish children across the country. Isn’t that the sweetest idea ever?
If you have been to the Build-A-Bear Workshop; you would know that when a child creates their furry friend they also select a small satin heart and fill it with love and wishes. The heart is then placed carefully inside their new furry friend.
From now through to Valentine’s Day, Guests are being invited to share photos of their “heart ceremony” on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Pinterest. For every share with #shareukbabwwishes, Build-A-Bear Workshop will donate £1 to Starlight. Build-A-Bear Workshop Guests can also make a monetary donation to support Starlight at checkout tills in stores nationwide throughout the Valentine’s Day season.
If you would like to know more about our Build-A-Bear Workshop experience, read about it here.
And I don’t think I need to tell you that if you have a photo of your Build-A-Bear Workshop experience, please share it on your social media platforms so that we have help grant wishes for seriously and terminally ill children in the UK.
There are also some adorable furry friends that are in new for Valentine’s Day so if you are stuck for ideas why not gift one of these adorable friends and bring smiles to your loved ones and the children of the Starlight Foundation. Its a win-win situation!
Disclosure: I was under no obligation to write this post. I just think that this is such a great campaign and wanted to share it with my readers. Besides, I am hoping that many of you may share your photos. 🙂
