When we were sent these three books from The Blue Kangaroo series to review, Aeryn was so happy. She loves reading and in fact is doing pretty well with her reading in school.
As mentioned a million times over, I always encourage reading and thank goodness the children are avid readers.
When I First Met You Blue Kangaroo
When Lily gets a new baby brother, she soon discovers that it’s not easy learning new things and helping to look after someone so small. But then Grandma brings her a very special surprise; someone who also needs to be cared for – Blue Kangaroo!
And from the moment that Lily and Blue Kangaroo meet it is love!
This was so well written putting forth how a child may feel when there is a smaller sibling in the home. It is a lovely book and Aeryn loved it. It is an easy book to read and the illustrations are really pretty.
Where Are You Blue Kangaroo?
Lily loves Blue Kangaroo, but she often loses him and sometimes Blue Kangaroo wonders if he’ll ever see her again. Luckily, Lily always seems to find him, but what if one day she doesn’t?
This is something that children can clearly identify with and it is so sweetly written. Aeryn loved this one too.
Happy Birthday Blue Kangaroo
Lily has decided – this year she will have a pink birthday. Pink invitations, pink cake and pink presents. But Blue Kangaroo is not pink! Has Lily forgotten her best friend?
Sometimes children forget about their well loved toy and get caught up in the moment, but they always comes back to their favourite. This is especially when it concerns a cuddly toy.
My little one has a little owl that goes everywhere with her.
We enjoyed reading these books. They are simply written and are really well illustrated. I would definitely recommend them for the target age of 3 – 5 years.
