Bayala Mermaid with baby turtle in shell from Schleich – Review

We love anything to do with Schleich and we’ve been lucky to review quite a few products from the range. We were recently sent the Bayala Mermaid with baby Turtle set to review. Like all the other Schleich products, this one is lovely too.

Here’s the story behind the mermaid in the shell –

‘On an outing to the coral reef, this mermaid found a little turtle that was paddling around totally lost. She carefully took the animal home with her and has lovingly cared for it ever since. The two of them quickly became best friends. The turtle bravely swims through the colourful mermaid house out into the garden and accompanies its best friend everywhere she goes. Sometimes it swims closely behind the mermaid, her long brown hair tickling its a little turtle nose. How beautiful the mermaid is with her glistening tail fin and jewellery made of mother of pearl. When the little turtle is tired from so much swimming, it simply rests on the hand of its friend. It is quickly rested up and ready for the next outing. What adventure should the two of them go on next?’

What we thought –

We love mythical creatures and mermaids are one our favourite ones. This is a lovely little set. The mermaid is so gorgeous with lovely long hair and a tiara. She holds a baby turtle in her hand and this can be interchanged with the fern too. There is also a musical instrument that she can hold which looks like a ukulele of sorts.

There is great attention to detail and the mermaid’s fish tail is very beautifully finished. There is a lot of the sparkly element too which is perfect for the theme. The sea-shell is lilac and also has some glitter on it. It can be opened and shut.

The Mermaid with baby turtle in shell is priced at £14.99 and is available at all major retailers.
