Have you heard of the Twirlywoos? You can’t not have.
They are these adorable little birdlike creatures on the CBeebies show of the same name. It tells the story of a family -Great BigHoo (the father), Toodloo (the mum) and the children – Chickedy and Chick.
Twirlywoos is the new TV series launched on CBeebies in February 2015, developed by the legendary Anne Wood who created Teletubbies and In the Night Garden. This unique show is based on pure slapstick comedy with a focus on laugh-out-loud child centric humour to engage pre-schoolers, encouraging them to think for themselves, gain confidence in their own perceptions of the world and reinforce their understanding as they grow and develop.
We were sent the entire family and they are a welcome addition to our household.
Each of the plush toys are super soft and make signature sounds when their tummys are pressed. They are perfect for taking to bed. Though they are aimed at pre-school children, all three children love them.
The children take it in turns to press the toy’s tummies and result in some lovely musical sounds.
Talking Great BigHoo is blue in colour and is quite large. It is priced at £16.99 and says some phrases from the series.
Talking Toodloo is red and is slightly smaller than Great BigHoo. It is priced at £14.99 and also says phrases from the series.
Chickedy and Chick are priced at £9.99 each and are just as soft and gorgeous.
Peeking Peekaboo is priced at £14.99 and is reversible and can be hidden inside it’s shell. There is space to put your hand in so you can make it a hand puppet. It has different textures and is perfect for toddlers.
You can see how thrilled Aeryn is with them.
These toys are ideal for sensory play and since they also have sounds they suitable for pre-schoolers and encourage motor skills.
The Twirlywoos toys are really gorgeous and should be on loads of Christmas lists this year.
