T.G.I.Friday’s – A Review

We enjoy eating out as a family and when we were asked to visit a T.G.I. Friday’s restaurant as part of a Mother’s Day campaign, the children were quite thrilled.

We have been to TGIF before and the kids (older two) love the Coke floats there. (I do too!!)

We didn’t make a reservation but were shown to a table immediately. It was a Saturday evening and we had visited the Kingston restaurant which is normally quite busy. It did get busy later though.

The children were of course quite happy to wait to be served as there were these handy activity packs that you can pick up at the entrance.

We ordered our drinks and these were served pretty soon.

Our meals took a good 15 – 20 mintues to arrive. Hubs ordered the Jack Daniel’s Ribs and I ordered the Jack Daniels’ Chicken and Shrimp.

Jadyn decided on the BBQ Ribs from the Kids Menu, Ethan wanted the  Meat Feast Pizza and Aeryn – the cheese and tomato pizza.

Here’s where we felt a little let down with the service -All our meals were served but Ethan’s took another 3 – 5 minutes to be served and we had to ask for it as we were not even told that it had been delayed or it was on its way. He started munching on the fries from Hubs’ plate.

With regards to the meals -they were quite delicious and the quantity was good especially the kids’ meals.

I felt the Jack Daniel’s Ribs could have had more ribs served as my daughter who had the BBQ ribs for £4.99 had as much as the main adult Half Rack for £12.49

My Chicken and Shrimp tasted really good and the mash was yummy too.

The Pizzas were enjoyed by the children and they polished them off.

In fact, we were so stuffed that we had no room for dessert. The children wanted chocolate ice cream but there is only vanilla served with chocolate sauce so may be it would be a good idea to include chocolate ice cream in the menu to cater to all?

We did have an enjoyable evening, the food was delicious and the ambience was great too but because of the service we give it 4 out of 5 stars.

If you are looking to enjoy a family meal out for Mother’s Day, there are many stores around the UK and TGIF caters to different tastes for the entire family.

  1. I love TGI Fridays. We went there for the first time last year for the 7 year old’s birthday and it was great. Lovely food, and they made him a great birthday hat out of balloons! 🙂 Your food looks scrummy, and I could just eat those chips and onion rings now! 🙂
