On Friday, I don’t cook. Neither does Hubs. 🙂
It’s normally takeaway night on Friday as we tend to chill and stay up late. Yes, the kids too. After a 5 days of hard work at school and early nights and early mornings, we look forward to Friday evening.
We either have takeaway or a picnic in the living room.
Takeaway means pizza – most often.
Thanks to Deliveroo – the takeaway service that delivers from your favourite restaurants local to you, we can sample the delights of quite a few restaurants around us.
This time we tried out Pizza Express.
Now, if you’ve been reading my blog, you’ll notice that we are huge fans of Pizza Express too.
Obviously the kids were looking forward to Pizza Night. So was I. I was looking forward to trying out the ETNA – the pizza exclusive to Deliveroo that is back due to popular demand of the customers.
The Etna as the name suggests is fiery thanks to the hot ‘nduja sausage but it also has a sweetish element from the roquito peppers. Whatever the mix, it is oh, so tasty. Â The flavours blend perfectly. We tried the classic crust and it was delicious.
We also ordered the Americano (pepperoni) and the Autumn Special Basilicata. And  yes, you cannot have Pizza Express without dough balls.
The total worked up to about £40 and it was a really enjoyable meal.
I ordered well in advance but could put in a specific time for delivery. Service was spot on with the food delivered right on time.
If you think you are hot enough to handle the Etna, you can order it via the Deliveroo mobile app, the Deliveroo website or the Pizza Express website . I did also see that there is a special offer with Deliveroo until 27th October where if you spend £30 on Pizza Express from Monday to Thursday, you get £10 off your next order with Deliveroo. (Our takeaway night would have to be Friday, now wouldn’t it?)
Do you have a specific takeaway night in your home? What do you usually order?
We were provided with a voucher to review the pizza and service from Deliveroo. All ideas and opinions are my own.
