We love crafting especially when it’s jewellery. This time we were sent a My Style Dreamcatcher Jewellery making kit and Jadyn enjoyed creating the pieces.
We love the Boho theme and Dreamcatchers are very popular in our home.
The set comes with –
- 4 plastic loops
- 2 decorative metal loops
- Blue and pink cord
- Faux suede cord in green and purple
- Clamshell clasps
- Silver thread
- 4 goose feathers
- 2 spotty feathers
- 2 ear hooks
- 6 jump rings
- Silver beads
- 3 metal feathers
- Instruction manuals
It contains everything you need to make 5 projects – earrings, a necklace and bracelet.
It is fairly easy to make as the instructions are very clear. We found it a bit fiddly trying to get the spider pattern right but got there in the end and it was well worth it.
Though there are instructions, you can actually change things around and add more beads etc to give your own personal touch. When complete, the jewellery looks quite gorgeous and totally wearable. I quite like the concept of being able to make an extra bracelet for a friend which Jadyn has done.
The only change we would have liked to make in the set it to have two matching feathers for the earrings. We could not find two to match and we had to use 2 colours that matched the closest. But then again, perhaps it all adds to the Boho charm.
The set is priced at £9.99 and we think it is great value for money as the products are of a good quality and there is quite a lot to do. I think the set is perfect for a present or even to have ready for a play date where children can get together an make their own jewellery.
The set is targeted at children aged 8+ and this is the ideal age as it does take some dexterity to make which I like as it makes it challenging.
I was sent this set to review. All ideas and opinions are my own.
