I have of course seen all of them and some of my favourite scenes are –

The Hobbit

When Bilbao fights the spider. It was so well done. And I loved where he met Smaug. And of course the journey with Gandalf and the dwarves and Throin as they go to claim Erebor.

The Lord of the Rings

Aragorn’s coronation and the Rohirrim showing up at Pelenor fields.

I can’t wait to sit and watch all of these. I know they’re all quite long but all so exciting. I hated having to wait to see the next part as they were released. Now I get to watch them all together.

And one of my lucky readers is in for a treat too. You can win a 6-disc DVD set containing the entire collection of the films.

  1. Gollum is my favourite, unusual character. Feel sorry for him at times, he is funny and manipulates people, cunning and heartbreakingly unavailable.

  2. I actually really don’t like this type of film at all I’m afraid. I know my husband is a big fan, so I’m trying to win it for him, but I don’t even know any of the characters lol

  3. Mine has got to be Tom Bombadil as he’s so quirky and happy, but he doesn’t make an appearance in the films.
Out of the characters that are in the films I think my favourites would be Merry and Pippin

  4. Mr. Samwise Gamgee has always been my favorite! To me he is the hero of Middle-earth. He is one of the two that takes the Ring to Mordor, takes on Shelob, encourages Frodo, and even carries Frodo at the end. He is the strongest character of them all because he never loses hope. Sam is definitely my favorite. 🙂
