There are some toys that I find myself trying out (please note, I have not used the words playing with) when the children are at school. This is purely to see whether the toys are suitable (yeah right!) But then, I begin enjoying the toy myself especially if it is a creative toy. I find myself thinking – what a clever idea or why didn’t they have this when I was young.
This is one of those toys – The Super Loop Bands from Interplay’s My Style range.
The Super Loop Bands consists of 125 coloured loops in 5 colours – orange, purple (lilac), blue, pink and yellow, 5 metal ‘S’ clasps and instructions.
It is a very simple concept and results in gorgeous bracelets all the time.
All you need to do is follow the instructions but it is really easy to do. Fold a loop and hook the ‘S’ clasp into it. Then, loop the next loop through the first loop and continue till you reach the desired length. Literally as easy as that.
The loops are made from silicon and are soft and pliable so they will stretch a bit on the hand.
I like that there are products like these for children to get creative with. They can even make some for their besties or just exchange them if other girls at school have them. If you do not want so many bracelets, you can also make a matching necklace.
In this day, when television is such a distraction, I am pleased to see that the children would rather do this and make something than watch telly.
The set is targeted to children aged 8+ and this would be about the right age as it can be a bit tricky to ‘loop’ the bands.
What we liked about the product?
- Great colours and good quality.
- Looks great when worn
- Easy to make.
- Helps creativity
The only thing I didn’t like is that one could only make one bracelet design so there was a little bit of a restriction on creativity.
But it is still a great set and priced at £9.99 is good value for money.
