I have always loved a buffet. Not so much because it’s eat all you want as I do not have a large appetite but because of the different dishes that are on offer.
When I was provided with a n opportunity to review Kitchin N1, I was looking forward to visiting and taking my children. Besides after checking out the website and what was on offer, I knew the children would also find something that they liked.
Kitchin N1 is a stones throw from Kings cross station so it is very convenient if you are travelling or passing through.
The spread- and I have to call it that as there is a huge range of food – Chinese, Indian and Italian and in each section there are about 3- 4 dishes. There is also a starter section which had 4 dishes – fish, chicken and vegetarian .
There was also chicken tikka kebab and a soup for starters.
If you wanted noodles, you could have it cooked fresh in front of your eyes and make it as you want it by adding your amount of noodles, veg and choosing the meat. The chef then cooks it as a live cooking experience. The children were quite entranced by the huge flame.
There was also pizza which the children thoroughly enjoyed – cheese for vegetarians and pepperoni for non-vegetarians.
For dessert there were three types of cake,- chocolate and yogurt, fresh fruit, a chocolate fountain with marshmallows and ice cream out of a machine – so you could make your own softy icecream. Child heaven!
The restaurant was clean and the food was presented well. I did think that the lighting could have been a little brighter especially since it was lunch time.
The restaurant is really well placed being so near to King’s Cross and St. Pancras. The price of the buffet per head is extremely reasonable at £7.99 per head for lunch from Monday to Saturday and £9.99 for Sunday Roast lunch. Dinner is priced at £14.99 Monday to Thursday and Sunday and £15.99 on Fridays and Saturdays. Children under 10 years pay £5.99
At these prices, I think the restaurant offers excellent value for money as there is such a huge choice of food and you can eat as much as you like. It is definitely well worth paying it a visit with the family and is ideal for parties and birthdays.
