It was a Mum thing at No. 5 Cavendish Square

On Thursday, I found myself getting ready for an evening out in London. I was invited by Mumsnet and Notonthehighstreet.com  for an exclusive evening at No. 5 Cavendish Square for a special Mother’s Day Event.

I wish my mother was alive as I would have loved to take her to it. She was a shy person but we loved spending time together and she would have enjoyed the evening.

The evening promised to be lovely with cocktails and canapés and entertainment and I was really pleased to have been invited.

The day had started out as being bright and sunny and I was hoping that the evening would be just as great but obviously not. It was windy and cold and yes – raining.

I went to the event with fellow blogger, Nel from NelC3 and we were kind of wishing we had not been vain and worn warmer clothes as we had left our winter jackets behind. By the time we reached London and emerged from the Tube station, it was pelting down. Thankfully, I had carried my heels and travelled in flats or I would have probably turned up with scraped and bleeding knees from having slipped on the road!

The venue was beautifully decorated and though we entered a bit late, we didn’t miss anything.

There were lychee and gin cocktails, elderflower non-alcoholic drinks and champagne flowing. The canapés were delicious – mini burgers and there was also wild mushroom risotto (which was yummy) and fish and chips!

We were greeted by the Holly Tucker (co-founder and CEO of notonthehighstreet.com) who told us a little bit about her own mother and about the company.

We were then treated to a sensory experience by Odette Toilette who took us through a few decades of perfumes.

We visited the little wishing tree where we left our wise words and the photo booth for some fun pictures and mingled a bit.

Before the evening came to a close, Shappi Khorsandi entertained us with some rib ticklers and that was the perfect way to end the evening – lightheaded  lighthearted with laughter!

And then of course, we were handed a goody bag that contained –

Notonthehighstreet.com specialises in beautiful gifts for special occasions. The gifts are also different to the run of the mill gifts that can be found elsewhere. If I had to purchase a gift for my Mum for Mother’s Day – that’s the first place I would go to.

There are personalised gifts that are exquisite like these family names bracelets and necklaces, The Story of Me and My Mum books, personalised photo albums and much, much more. Gifts are priced for as little as £5.50 for this cute personalised spoon so even the little ones can get something for mum with their own pocket money.

I have ordered products from the site and the delivery has also been really quick.

If you are yet to get your gift for Mother’s Day, look no further than www.notonthehighstreet.com

A big thank you to notonthehighstreet.com and Mumsnet for the lovely evening.

Disclaimer: I was invited to the event above and given a goody bag. All ideas and opinions are in no way influenced by the alcohol, good food and the lovely evening I had. 🙂
