As you may know, we are huge Star Wars fans – especially Ethan. He dreams Star Wars.
When we were put to the test recently by Egmont to come up with a Star Wars costume of our own, we put our minds together and came up with a challenging one. Ethan wanted to be a Stormtrooper.
I’d say it looks pretty awesome.
To make a Stormtrooper costume you will need –
- A1 white cartridge paper
- A4 printer paper (get the one that is thicker and has a shine to it)
- Black thick marker
- Sticky tape
- Stapler
- Double-sided sticky tape
- Scissors
- Ruler
To make the Stormtrooper, all you need do is to cut out the different bits for the different body parts.
As we were using paper, we needed to make sure that it would secure properly so we attached strips of paper to the different parts so we could attach them to the body properly.
I used a printout of a mask for the face.
To assemble your Stormtrooper, get your child dressed in black. Ethan has a black t-shirt with black joggers.
Then get securing all the parts. I used two sheets of the A2 cartridge paper to make the torso so we had something to attach the other body parts to. I drew on a belt.
It too quite some time to make and assemble and as I completed it, I had the idea that next time I must try it out with craft foam.
It did however look really nice and Ethan was quite thrilled with it.
We were also sent a series of books – Star Wars Adventures in Wild Space
- Book 1: The Snare
- Book 2: The Nest
- Book 3: The Steal
- Book 4: The Dark
- Book 5: The Cold
As well as –
Star Wars Rogue One – Profiles and Poster Book
AND
Star Wars Rogue One – Mission Files
The Star Wars: Adventures in Wild Space series are interesting and well written. I like that there are a few pictures within the book too. They are easy to read and perfect for Star Wars fans to encourage reading.
The Star Wars Rogue One Profiles book gives you the low down on all the Rogue One characters. If you haven’t seen the film you must, it is very entertaining.
Rogue One: Mission Files has a lot of facts and figures of places and characters from the film and tells you about them. Again, a book that will go down well with Star Wars fans.
Here’s a video showing off our costume –
