Review: ColourMatch from Argos

I love single toned colours but was a little sceptical about using one for my bedroom as I have always used a self print or printed bed linen.

When I was approached by Argos to review some items from their ColourMatch range, I thought it would be great to try something new. The colours sound as delectable as they look with names such as Jelly Bean Blue, Tuttifrutti Green and Bubblegum Pink.

I love the colour blue and thought it would be interesting to have my bed linen in Fiesta Blue (which is slightly darker than the Jelly Bean Blue.

I was sent a duvet set, fitted sheet and pillowcases as well as a desk lamp and a wall clock. However, the wall clock and desk lamp, I chose to contrast in Jelly Bean blue.

As suggested, I put the bed linen to wash before use and it is now lovely and soft. The colours, though all one shade, look really nice on the bed and the contrasting lamp and clock set off the colours beautifully.

The duvet set consists of a duvet cover and 2 pillow cases. It is made of 52% polyester and 48% cotton and can be tumble dried.

The fitted sheet is also made of the same blend and can fit mattresses of up to a depth of 25cm.

The clock is a lovely light shade of blue with silver/grey numbering. It is made of glass and looks quite contemporary and stylish.

The desk lamp is also the same colour as the clock – a lighter blue. It is made of metal and the stainless steel, adjustable neck adds to its functional style. It has an in-line switch and can be used with low energy bulbs.

Argos’ colour match range is affordable and stylish and allows you to colour co-ordinate your home. There is a wide range of colours so you can either choose to go with one shade or try out contrasting shades or colours.

I have learnt a few things while completing this review –

– ditch the muted tones and go with brighter colours

– don’t be afraid to try new things: go with colours that you are drawn to – even if its neon orange. Well, not for a bedcover, is my advice, but for a lamp or a bathroom accessories.

– colours reflect the personality of the home  and also uplift the mood, so go with bright colours that will brighten the day (especially with dark wintry days around the corner)

– choose colours that you think are great, not what the neighbours think are great – it is YOUR home!

I would love to see even more additions to the Colour Match range – in different fabrics and suited to even more rooms so I can colour match my home completely.
