The cleaners are coming – I need to clean the house.
Have you ever felt this way?
I was more than happy to be able to review a cleaning service. Having said that, I didn’t realise that it would involve more work for me both pre and post cleaners.
First of all, the moment I fixed a date, I looked around the house and was glad – the house would be fresh and clean in a weeks time. It does not mean that I do not clean the house. It just means that it was time for a more professional clean.
I looked round again and I realised that I needed to do a small pre-clean/declutter before the cleaners arrived. How on earth would they be able clean amongst clutter?
So, yes, in the run up to the cleaners coming, I settled up, threw out the unnecessary and wiped off dust. I threw things into drawers and shut stuff up in cupboards.
The cleaners were coming but I would not have them see an untidy/ dusty house.
I know – it pretty much defeats the purpose. But I did want to make a sort of impression. Quite like having visitors.
And so the cleaners came and they were amazing. The house never looked so clean. I refused to cook that evening lest it spoil the scent of freshness.
And of course, now I have to live up to the standards that have been set and keep it that way.
