Molly Monster Film Review and Giveaway

Molly Monster was always the smallest in her family – until now.

Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime as Molly Monster, the latest film from Enchanted Animation, premieres in UK cinemas on the 21st of April. Delightfully heart-warming and beautifully animated, get your family together this Spring for a story all about new beginnings.

In Monsterland, when the mothers lay their eggs it is the father’s job to keep them warm until it is time for the eggs to hatch. Baby monsters only hatch on Egg Island, so when Molly finds out she is going to be having a new brother or sister, she knows her family are off on a trip.

However, Molly Monster is too young to join her parents on the journey to Egg Island which leaves her feeling upset and disappointed. A determined Molly sets out on a journey to be reunited with her family – and it is longer and far more difficult than anything she could have ever imagined.

Accompanied by Edison, her best friend and toy, Molly learns what it means to be a family and most importantly what it means to become a big sister!

Molly Monster is a charming piece of storytelling for pre-school children which teaches them about family bonding and friendship. Ted Sieger‘s MOLLY MONSTER, is an international coproduction of Sieger, Little Monster GmbH,Trickstudio Lutterbeck GmbH, Alexandra Schatzfilmproduktion UG, Sluggerfilm AB, Senator Film Munchen GmbH and Peacock Film and will be distributed in the UK and Ireland by Enchanted Animation.

We loved the film. It’s endearing and deals with familial love and all the emotions that a sibling encounters when there is a new baby on the way.

Molly Monster is released in cinemas across the UK today – 21st April 2017 and was released in Ireland on 14th April 2017

Run time: 72 minutes

To celebrate the release of the film, I’m running a giveaway where you can win 1 of 2 chocolate eggs. You can never have enough chocolate, can you? All you need do is enter the giveaway below –

Letts KS2 Success SATs Practice Books Review and Giveaway

It’s almost time for the SATs. Last year this time, Jadyn was ear deep in workbooks and practice papers.

I know a lot of people believe that the SATS don’t count for anything but through experience let me tell you that they do. They determine the set that your child will get into when she enters secondary school. Yes, there is always scope to better oneself throughout the year but the initial set is determined by the SATs and of course, any entrance examinations the school may have.

And it’s always good to enter secondary school on a higher set. It does wonders for self-confidence.

I did tell Jadyn last year that the SATs were important and she worked hard. She was rewarded with good results.

She did find these books and practice test papers very helpful.

Letts KS2 Success have the SATs Revision Guides which teach about the different topics and have questions to work out. It is a great way for revising all you have learnt in the years leading unto Year 6.

You can then purchase the SATs practice papers which have 4 complete papers with answers. These are really handy for preparation for the real thing as you can time your child.

The books are targeted to 7 – 11 so you don’t really need to wait until just before the SATs to start with these books. Ideally, I feel it would be better to start working on the books in Year 5.

Check out http://www.letts-revision.co.uk/index.html for more information on these books. There is also an offer on at the moment where you can get 30% off the books until 1st May 2017.

Since I found these books so helpful, I’ve joined with Harper Collins to giveaway a set of SATs books worth £50. All you need to do is enter the giveaway below.
