You must know that we love everything Disney – the movies, the products and of course the Disney Parks and Resorts. I will never forget visiting Disneyland during Christmas and seeing the Sound and Light Parade. It was AMAZING. I don’t know who was more excited – my daughter aged 3 or myself! 🙂
Being such great fans of Disney and hooked on to tablets and apps, we also play a number of Disney games on the iPad. I was very pleased to receive the news about the launch of the new Apps on the iPad and the iPhone and thought I would share it with you. They are free to download and look really amazing. I have downloaded them but haven’t had a play as yet.
Disney Imagicademy, Disney’s new technology-driven learning initiative designed to encourage children to learn by creating, doing and making, has now launched.
Designed for families with children aged 3 to 8, Disney Imagicademy’s integrated program connects children’s apps, a parents app and physical toys to create a unique family experience that helps inspire a lifelong love of learning. The apps and products cover key subject matters that are important for early childhood development, including maths, creative arts, science, language arts and social and emotional skills.
The integrated program has been developed in conjunction with top academics and education experts and includes more than 30 app-based experiences. Five of these – Mickey’s Magical Maths World – have just launched along with a companion app for parents that will help them play an active role in their child’s learning. Books and other physical products will be available in 2015.
Mickey’s Magical Maths World, an iPad-exclusive app, features five fun maths-focused activities in one app: “Mickey’s Super Rocket Shapes,” “Donald’s Number Launcher,” “Minnie’s Robot Count-Along,” “Daisy’s Bedtime Countdown” and “Goofy’s Silly Sorting.” Each in-app experience features progressive early maths concepts, including counting forwards and backwards, sort and classify, skip count, numbers and shapes recognition, reason and logic and more.
The Disney Imagicademy Parents app provides a wealth of features including an accessible way to facilitate an ongoing conversation between parent and child about what they are learning, as well as functionality to receive real-time updates about their children’s progress, the ability to reward accomplishments digitally and remotely and opportunities to inspire offline learning through a continuously updated content feed of ideas tied directly to concepts children are exposed to in the apps.
The second suite of digital apps in the Disney Imagicademy line-up is Mickey’s Magical Arts World. Focused on creative arts, this will be available for download in January 2015.
