We were thrilled to be reviewing Eurocamp over the Easter break. Choosing the destination was the problem as there are so many to choose from. Having never been to France, we finally decided to narrow it down and then decided on one near Paris so we could visit the city.
We had opted to take the car and use the ferry.
On the morning of our trip, we awoke early, all set for the seemingly long journey to France. We were pleasantly surprised that the day did pass quite quickly and we were at La Croix Du Vieux Pont by about 3pm. With getting used to driving on the opposite side of the road and all, it was quite good time.
The drive from Calais to Eurocamp is a pleasant one with scenic views of the French countryside. It took us about two and a half hours to drive from Calais to the campsite.
The campsite is tucked away in a little village – Berny Rivière, but offers all the facilities you could want.
The Accommodation
We were staying in a 3 bedroom Vista mobile home with decking. I was quite surprised to see that our home for the next week was quite deceptively spacious. The rooms were not huge but they were not tiny either. It is a self-catering accommodation so it contains a well-equipped kitchen that contains everything you need to cook your meals if you choose to do so. There is also quite a lot of storage.
One of the bedrooms had a double bed, one had a bunk bed and one had twin beds. The sofa can also be converted to a bed.
The accommodation is provided with duvets and pillows but you will need to hire bed linen or take your own. I think it is easier to hire. The bed linen consists of a pillow slip, duvet cover and a towel which is pretty handy.
You can also buy a welcome pack for £12 which contains things like tea, coffee, crisps, biscuits, sugar, salt and pepper etc. I would also recommend the essentials pack for £4 that includes a box of matches, cleaning products, a tea towel etc. You can find out more about this here – http://www.eurocamp.co.uk/travel-and-extras/holiday-extras/welcome-pack
The accommodation is provided with a barbecue as part of the package and I was extremely pleased with the service as our barbecue refused to light up and we were provided with another one within minutes.
The day we arrived saw a huge group of people descend on the camp but I must say that the Eurocamp Couriers managed efficiently. We were visited by a Courier later that very evening even though we didn’t expect it as it was so busy. They checked if everything was okay and went out of their way to answer queries related to our trip to Paris.
The Facilities
The campsite is well maintained and there are many facilities onsite like swimming pools, Ping Pong tables, canoeing, cycle hire as well as Kids Clubs run by Eurocamp.
The children enjoyed themselves in the pool especially on the slides in the swimming area. We even hired a paddle boat and this was so much fun.
There is a lagoon lake as well which features a beach and the camp has 2 restaurants and a bar. An onsite mini market that sells everything from food to bath products is also on site. There is even a bakery which serves up freshly baked bread.
We had an amazing time and I shall be writing about our trip in more detail as there is so much to write about and I would strongly recommend this location of Eurocamp to anyone visiting France. It is about a little over an hour’s journey into Paris and ideal for a trip to Euro Disney too. Although we didn’t visit the Disney Park.
There is a Eurocamp office on site and there is always someone available there during office opening hours. You can also borrow badminton sets, Ping Pong sets and other games to keep you occupied.
There is a shop onsite too where you can buy souvenirs, toys and even swimsuits and swimming products.
While on a Eurocamp holiday, you don’t really need to spend money touring as there is so much to keep you occupied within the campsite.
The Surrounding Area
This campsite is located a short walk from the nearest village Vic-Sur-Ainse. It is a charming little town that houses some shops, restaurants and post office as well as a petrol station and an Intermarche – a supermarket where you can pick up all your requirements.
There are towns that are just as beautiful further afield like Soissons, Pierrefonds, Compiegne and of course Paris. You can drive to all these places. I highly recommend Pierrefonds.
And of course, Paris –
Our Review
We thoroughly enjoyed our Eurocamp break. We found all the staff from the time we booked our stay to the end of the stay very professional and friendly and eager to help. Their mission it seems is to make every holiday as memorable as possible. Considering that the stays are quite inexpensive, the entire experience was very good value for money. We would wholeheartedly recommend Eurocamp to anyone looking for a family holiday filled with fun and memories. We ourselves look forward to visiting again.

What an amazing family holiday! Love that there’s so much to do on site, but that you’re also so close to Paris if you want to venture out on a day trip. x
