Take a child to a furniture store and the first thing they do is lie or jump on the mattress to test it out. I am pretty much the same – I love to test the comfort factor of a mattress. And although I cannot be like the child and jump on a mattress, sometimes I wish I could.
To me a mattress is not just something one uses to sleep on. It has to be more than that….much more! Don’t worry I am not going to list the various uses of a mattress here!
If I do not have a good night’s sleep, I almost certainly get up with a headache and am grumpy for the rest of the day. Thankfully this does not happen often. My other half may however, tell you otherwise.
With an amazing range of mattresses available nowadays, it is quite difficult to make up one’s mind about which one is best. My advice is to research into it carefully because it not only makes a difference to you having a comfortable sleep but also has an impact on your energy the next morning.
I have been on the lookout for a suitable mattress for our bed and came across a wide range of mattresses on the John Lewis website. They really have so many to choose from that I am finding it really difficult to make up my mind.
Maybe you can help me decide which one is best for me?
Here are some that really caught my eye –
This John Lewis Pocket Ortho 1800 Mattress looks absolutely comfortable and very supportive. Obviously the more springs, the better the mattress and hence greater the price. This mattress is specially manufactured to keep one cool in summer and warm in winter. It also has silver particles incorporated into the fabric to keep dust mites away. It is priced at £899 but I do believe that one cannot put a price on a good night’s sleep.
I was very taken with their natural collection of mattresses. These are spring mattresses and have up to 5000 springs. These handmade mattresses are produced in Yorkshire and made of cotton blended with hemp that regulates body temperature. I also totally endorse the environmentally friendly feature. Priced at £999.00, it would definitely be worth investing in to wake up bright-eyed and raring to go in the morning.
I also loved the memory foam mattresses which look ever so inviting. I love a mattress that I can sink into. The memory foam mattresses are obviously more expensive than the others but I am sure that these mattresses will ensure that you do not get up with aches and pains and give you a fitful sleep.
I still have not made up my mind on the mattress that I will be looking to buy but I will probably do as suggested and go to a John Lewis store and have a look around and test some of them so that I am confident that I pick up the right one.
